Kate Davis

Kate Davis is a Sydney-based contemporary artist whose expressive acrylic paintings celebrate the beauty, character and diversity of Australian native wildlife. Deeply connected to the natural environment, her work explores the relationship between wildlife, place and memory, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the quieter moments of the Australian landscape.

Drawing inspiration from the Flinders Ranges in South Australia to Garigal National Park near her Sydney studio, Davis captures the distinctive personalities of native animals through vibrant colour, layered textures and expressive realism. Her paintings balance the richness and ruggedness of the Australian environment with a sense of softness and intimacy.

Davis holds a Bachelor of Archaeology with Distinction from Macquarie University and a Diploma of Film with Distinction from SAE Institute. Her artistic practice has been recognised through several exhibitions and awards, including the 2025 Packer's Prize and People's Choice Prize at the Inverell Art Prize for her work Entwined.

Her work has been exhibited at Sydney Road Gallery, Gallery 109 and Q Gallery in Canberra. Through her paintings, Davis continues to explore Australia's unique wildlife and the emotional connections that shape our sense of place and belonging.
