Groundspace Gallery invites artists, artist groups and curators to propose solo and group exhibitions for October–December 2026 and January–June 2027.

Located on Glebe Point Road, close to Sydney’s city centre, our gallery offers a welcoming space to present your work and connect with visitors. Whether you’re developing a new body of work or have an exhibition idea ready to share, we’d love to hear from you.

All exhibition proposals will be carefully reviewed by Groundspace Gallery, with exhibition dates confirmed for selected applicants.

GALLERY SPACES

Situated in the heart of Glebe on Glebe Point Road, just steps from Glebe Markets, Groundspace Gallery offers two connected exhibition spaces in a vibrant neighbourhood setting. Our street-facing location creates a welcoming space for visitors to discover art.

Front Gallery (30 m²)

Our street-facing gallery offers natural light and strong visibility from Glebe Point Road. Approximately 19.2 linear metres of hanging space, including double-sided window panels, provide a versatile setting for solo and group exhibitions.

Rear Gallery (28 m²)

Extending beyond the front gallery, this space offers approximately 16.7 linear metres of hanging space. Available as an add-on to the Front Gallery, it provides additional room for larger exhibitions or a distinct body of work.

EXHIBITION APPLICATION DETAILS

  • – Artists at all stages of their practice, from emerging to established

    – Curators, artist collectives, and collaborative groups proposing independent exhibition projects

    – Submissions across all mediums, including painting, textile, soft sculpture, sculpture, photography, installation, mixed media, and digital practices

    – Applicants based in Australia and internationally are welcome

  • Gallery hire fees are charged per week and include GST.

    • Front Gallery: $950 per week in 2026; $1,150 per week in 2027.

    • Rear Gallery: An additional $450 per week. Available only with Front Gallery hire and cannot be hired separately.

    • A 20% commission applies to artwork sales.

    • A refundable security bond of $200 is required.

  • Gallery Space & Facilities

    – Use of the booked gallery areas for the agreed exhibition period
    – Gallery hanging system and adjustable exhibition lighting
    – Standard utilities, including electricity and water
    – Public liability insurance included; artists are responsible for insuring their own artworks

    Installation & Deinstallation

    – Access for installation and deinstallation at agreed times
    – Use of the gallery’s hanging system
    – Guidance on exhibition layout and artwork presentation
    – Artwork delivery, installation, removal and collection arranged by the artist

    Exhibition Support

    – Advice on presentation, layout and spatial arrangement
    – Artwork label printing
    – Fine art printing available at an additional cost

    Marketing

    – Exhibition promotion through the gallery’s website and social media
    – Artists to supply artwork images, an artist biography and exhibition information for promotional use

    Opening Events

    – An optional opening event may be arranged with the gallery
    – Artists are responsible for providing refreshments and organising their event
    – Gallery staff attendance is subject to prior agreement
