Liu Pan is a Beijing-based artist educated at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), where he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Film and Imaging Arts and a Master’s degree in Easel Painting. He is currently pursuing doctoral research at CAFA. His academic training has strongly shaped his rigorous approach to painting, combining technical discipline with conceptual inquiry.

Liu has exhibited extensively across China and internationally, with works shown in Beijing’s 798 Art District, Shanghai, and major art institutions. His practice moves between figuration and abstraction, focusing on landscape and portraiture as platforms for formal exploration. Through layered colour, fragmented forms and subtle spatial tension, he reflects on perception, memory and contemporary experience, continuously expanding the expressive possibilities of painting.
