May Su
May Su is a Sydney-based artist and portrait photographer whose abstract painting practice explores geometric abstraction and biomorphism. Her geometric works investigate the relationships between shape, colour and space, while her biomorphic paintings draw on the curves, rhythms and structures of organic forms. Across both approaches, she explores how layered compositions create a sense of movement, depth and connection.
May holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Linguistics and Literature, as well as a Diploma of Photography. Her education also includes studies towards a Bachelor of Visual Arts at the University of Sydney. Her background in language, literature and portrait photography informs her sensitivity to composition, light, rhythm and the relationships between forms.
